This amazing 12yr old's name is Janicey Khan. She has a very big heart for the deaf community. When being asked if she believes that the deaf/ hard hearing people speak a language, her answer is: "Yes, sign language IS a language!" According to Janicey, these people and the community are not to be underestimated. When Janicey observes the many talents of her uncle who is hard hearing, she doesn't describe him as disabled, yet differently abled. With her weekly updates on her YouTube channel, Janicey made a positive impact and her "YouTube Family" continues to grow.

I know you all are curious to find out what my concerns were as a Twin Mom (TM) in the twins first years of life. Well... There is so much awareness I would like to share with you, but the countdown to their birthday has started and a greater concern has caught my attention!
The death of so many youngsters due to challenges that they join on social media, which lead to suicidal acts. My heart and sincere condolences goes out to these families. This is one of the main concerns with my kids and social media. However... As a parent and learning coach I tend to disagree on withholding activities from minors, without having an adequate alternative. This may eventually lead to them feeling as an outcast, which may cause bullying or unpleasant remarks from their peers. You don't want that either and therefore we often give in and allow certain modern/online activities. I've tried to come up with a solution.
Back in 2018 The JC's Twins were nominated and received an award for excellence in TV production. As program developers and presenters, they decided to do greater projects and became a recognized brand called the JC's Twins. This duo started to reach out to children in Suriname as kids with a vision on a mission. The graduated Principal Honor roll students and NEHS members, the JC's Twins decided to help others to accomplish their missions as well. This resulted in a newspaper to promote GenZ-ers in Suriname which they used as a tool to raise funds and help this specific group.
Many people asked why the JC's Twins choose Suriname and its diaspora as their main focus.
The answer is because they discovered that Suriname wasn't very well known. Writing essays in their distance learning program about the Suriname congregation in America was even refused, for there wasn't enough documentation to proof that this particular culture does exist in America. This was the start of an interesting journey, which has proven to be very fruitful and has only now begun. We posted on YouTube, but not all minors were granted parental permission to sign up. This made my task as a mother and learning coach extremely challenging, but great after all. Many people overseas showed interest in Suriname and many questions arised. This made the twins very excited and they wanted to share it with others. So I found a great solution which may not only suit my kids, but many interested in Suriname especially minors of Suriname parents living overseas. TV online is the PERFECT solution! I am pretty sure that they will enjoy the TV station online which will present different things from Suriname and has a chatbox where they anonymously can interact with others. This friendly online TV station wil have its first session on Saturday August 1st, 2020 as a birthday gift from me and supporters to the JC's Twins. It's actual TV online which means that it was a serious investment to purchase send and viewers time in order for people worldwide people to watch the programs from their location simultaneously with others. Pretty cool feature isn't it? I know the twins will love the gift and I hope that you and your youngsters will enjoy the compilation of many creative Suriname social media talents presented in a safer environment. WAUW! Another year went by! The JC's Twins will turn 12 on Friday July 31. As any other parent I try to raise my kids the best I can. Personally I don't really allow them on social media and they don't like it that they can't have a Tik-Tok account. I allowed YouTube for school related purposes. However... If you don't allow your kids to partake in certain activities, I think it's good to have an alternative. Understand that I have a great challenge to overcome, hmmmm... The JC's Twins passed with A's and B's (cijfers 8-10) and their birthday is coming up. It was a long search on what to give. Something that allows everyone worldwide to attend, something fun, something where they can post notes. Would you like to know what it is...? You may guess, but definitely Stay Tuned!

De Quarantine Chef heeft assistentie ontvangen. De JC's Twins hebben vanmorgen besloten het roer over te nemen. Ze zijn zelfstandig naar de melkboer gefietst om producten te kopen en donuts te bakken. Ik hoorde de hele tijd: "Ik will ook roeren" of....

C: "Steeds zeg je sorry. Dalek ga je zien hoe ik oma voor je ga zeggen"
Eind resultaat: Cecilia vind dat Jay niet kan bakken, want ze lijken niet op donuts. De smaak is goed, dus noemen we ze maar Quarantinenuts

An Urban Missionary Lifestyle's core value in life is not only to preach about the light, but to be the light to those in need and willing to accept and appreciate you. When we talk about the love of God, we talk about an action. Whenever we say: "I accepted Christ" it's an action. When we say: "God bless you" It's an ACTION. There are many different ways to show that you care. May these times be used to the fullest extent, to prove what you mean when you use these words. We are not perfect, many may disconnect, people may turn away from you and from some you may not even know why. Start to focus on the ones that are still in your circle and want to be there. Start to care about your Jerusalem and the rest will follow. May your words don't go void these days. May your actions be your vocal cords. Be the light!

Last night Janicey had a difficult time studying for her science module test. She did a video about it the other day which I posted here on fb, but there were so many analysis she had to remember so I offered her my help. She was convinced that I wouldn't be able to help her, but at least I tried
Jay: Mom, explain how I should remember the difference on a Pedigree analysis (genetic diagrams) from someone with sickle cell anemia and how the traits are passing on.

Vorig jaar 2de Paasdag waren we nog samen met Bischop Pansa en Zr Pansa, de PC Akiemboto, RB EBGS en EBGS kinderwerkers in ons geliefd District Para. Het was echt een gezegende dag! Een mooi moment en een mooie samenwerking met alle geestelijke (EBGS) zusters. Wat hebben Zr Claudia Burgzorg en ik als RB leden 2 zeer intensieve weken gehad om het tot stand te brengen! In de Geest kreeg ik de naam Padvinders der EBGS en het geweldig idee van de minibeurs kwam van Stefanie Vanny Sno dat er heel goed op aansloot. Het thema was: "Wat zegt de Bijbel over..." en in groepsverband mochten ze het pad-vinden☺ Verschillende sprekers hebben uit hun expertise en Bijbelse onderrichting op een hele creatieve manier hun kennis overgedragen en 100+ hebben ervan genoten #MorePicsToCome

Ook wij hebben vandaag onze boodschappen gedaan tijdens de soft opening van Furlen's Food NV- Supermarket aan de Livornoweg #65. Ik ging zonder boodschappenlijst naar binnen, om gewoon even een kijkje te nemen en een fb friend te ontmoeten en feliciteren, maaaaaarrrr.... toen ik de prijzen eenmaal zag Ik kon het gewoon niet laten en heb direct mn boodschappenlijst genomen en inkopen gedaan hoor voordat ze zijn uitverkocht. De prijzen waren namelijk echt ONVOORSTELBAAR AMAZING! Ook lekker verse groenten en vanaf dinsdag verwachten ze een aanvulling, dus dus DUS... Een groter assortiment WAUW! A call from their club supporter to think about ways to help children in remote areas on fresh drinking water was the next step here in Suriname. A local neighbor offered to help and the twins combined efforts to make it work. It may not help hundreds, we may not had great tools, but it sure helped a few. As a mom and a learning coach/mentor, I wanted to share my feelings with you today. There is a reason for every season, but God has sown a seed in each and every one of us to overcome obstacles. We just need to discover within what our purpose is in life. One thing I have personally experienced is that many of my blessings came from giving. Don't be stingy! Give with a joyful heart and give your BEST! This picture was taken on March 1st 2019 at Rosen Centre Hotel. Unexpectedly I received an email that year that my daughters were nominated as best schoolTV presenters. I was overwhelmed with joy, excitement, but at the same time in complete SHOCK! At first in unbelieveable to be honest. I even asked how that happened. Answer: They were always on time, happy, their attitude attracted others to watch the school updates, big entertainment centers enjoyed how there business got promoted in an original and unique way, they always helped their teachers as program makers, came up with new creative concepts and PowerPoint presentations, assisted their co-students etc etc. All of a sudden a new door opened. The JC's Twins stepped into a big room with major crowd! Their first award ceremony☺ After that... much more happened which we will share in future posts. As you can read it involves giving with a joyful heart.

Turnclub Tyg
Beste vrienden,
Wij hebben een verdrietige, emotionele maar ook zeer mooie bijzondere avond achter de rug.
Wat begon met het uitkomen van onze angst, nl het gecanceld worden van de show, is geëindigd als een celebration van verbondenheid en liefde. TYG 25 jaar!! Stronger than ever!
Trainer Jeff heeft de mededeling van het cancelen van de show, in tranen gedaan. Wat vervolgens de waterval bij iedereen opstartte. De kinderen waren ontroostbaar.
Om de kinderen (en onze) stemming en energie op te krikken, hebben wij de generale show gedraaid. Met de spontane medewerking van Roelie's (decor en verlichting) en EMF (geluid).
De eerste act deden de kids met betraande gezichten. De laatste, gillend en met dikke pret. Eindigend met Happy Birthday voor onze club EN voor de jarige Shevon.
Het bestuur gaat zich beraden over de financiële consequenties voor de club en over de te nemen stappen inzake het Coronavirus, waarvoor wij de instructies van de overheid volgen. Komende maandag is er dan ook geen training. Degenen die reeds kaarten hebben gekocht, worden verzocht onze berichten te blijven volgen.
Wij danken alle ouders en trainers voor de support. This made us stronger!

Ouders verzorgers indien u benaderd word door promoters , mensen die zeggen dat ze je kunnen helpen onder de naam van een Stichting . Wees dan heel kritisch en volg alles , stel je vragen , en wanneer je voor je zelf niet het gewenste antwoord krijgt dan zou ik je zeggen stoppen ermee.
Iederen stg heeft namelijk zijn eigen " doel" zorg dus ervoor dat jou kind niet gebruikt word voor de stichtings doel.
Jou kind moet niet de kruimmels pikken terwijl de stg het geld neemt ten koste van je kind.
